Gov. Susana Martinez is holding a Tuesday afternoon news conference about recent arrest Clovis murder suspect Noe Torres in Mexico.
According to a news release sent out by the Governor’s Office, Torres is responsible for the 2005 murder of Carlos Perez and the attempted murder of his brother Ruben Perez. After the 2005 shooting, Torres fled to Mexico.
Since then, Torres has been calling and writing Clovis police and on Jan. 18 wrote a letter to the Governor. While the specifics of that letter aren’t public, what she did with it are.
Martinez’s camp says she delivered the letter and the Torres case file to Chihuahua Governor Cesar Duarte.
“Six days later, Torres was arrested by Mexican authorities and is now in the process of being extradited to the United States to stand trial,” the news release said.
