State Police will conduct a DWI checkpoint somewhere in Santa Fe County on Wednesday (Jan. 4).
Here is an e-mail from NMSP sent this morning:
The New Mexico State Police is continuing its efforts to decrease the number of our citizens killed or injured as a result of drunk drivers. It’s well known that the holiday season is one the most heavily traveled time of the year. The number of sobriety checkpoints increase at this time of the year to arrest drunk drivers and hopefully deter those who may be contemplating the poor decision to drink and drive.
Hundreds of lives could be saved each year if every driver had the courage to make the right decision.
