Jerome Block Jr., who was arrested Friday after violating a Drug Court urine test taken Thursday, was released Saturday morning after a less than 24-hour remand order.

KOB-TV’s Gadi Schwartz was at the jail Saturday morning and the former PRC commissioner Block told him the failed drug test was a technicality, according to a tweet from Schwartz. Block did not elaborate.

  1. David says:

Normally, this type of technicality would be sufficient to reinstate the jailtime part of his suspended sentence. But since it’s Judge Vigil who will rule on that, Jerome is probably right to be unconcerned.

I am still perplexed by the reluctance or incompetence of the AG’s Office to pursue the truly significant criminals who dominate New Mexico politics. One does not need look any further than the state legislators who blatantly and with great arrogance commit the most heinous of crimes. It is almost tolerated and this is the paragon that is provided to others coming into that environment. It is truly sad and pathetic.
