From the article written Wednesday and published in Thursday’s New Mexican:

A man who wore a pair of lime-green ostrich-skin boots during a brutal home invasion in southwest Santa Fe last year could spend the next 36 years in prison.

Jesus Nicanor Gonzalez-Jiminez, 29, of Chihuahua, Mexico, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one first-degree felony count of kidnapping, one first-degree felony count of criminal sexual penetration and a felony aggravated burglary charge for the Aug. 20, 2010, invasion of a home off Agua Fría Street belonging to a woman in her 60s.

Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Hill said she will ask state District Judge Michael Vigil for at least 36 years in prison — 18 each for the rape and kidnapping charges. She said she would leave it to the judge to decide whether to sentence Gonzalez-Jiminez to another nine years for the aggravated burglary charge.

He is expected to be deported after his prison sentence is complete. His sentencing is scheduled for 4 p.m. Oct. 19.
