Lt. Louis Carlos says emergency dispatchers received a call at 4:30 a.m. Saturday of a stabbing in the 1600 block of West Alameda Street. A man in his 30s was transported to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center. The man’s name has not been released.
While police could not provide an update on the man’s status as of 7:50 a.m., police had called out their homicide team to help with the investigations and were waiting for an official from the Office of the Medical Investigator to arrive at the hospital. The OMI is the agency that is called out in death investigations and it is the agency that officially pronounces a person dead in a homicide investigation.
Police had little information to go on early Saturday and a suspect had not been identified nor were details of how many times the man had been stabbed or information on a possible motive.
