New Mexico State Police

From the New Mexico State Police:

Santa Fe — State Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday, August 26, 2011, in Santa Fe County.

The New Mexico State Police is continuing its efforts to decrease the number of our citizens killed or injured as a result of drunk drivers. It’s well known that the summer months are the most heavily traveled months of the year. The number of sobriety checkpoints increase at this time of the year to arrest drunk drivers and hopefully deter those who may be contemplating the poor decision to drink and drive.

Hundreds of lives could be saved each year if every driver had the courage to make the right decision.

What will they do when they find a driver without a driver’s license or proof of insurance?
