This from a City of Santa Fe news release:

The Santa Fe Police Department Crime Prevention Unit will host the first of a series of Business Watch meetings at 7 p.m. on Aug. 17 at the Santa Fe Public Schools Educational Service Center at 610 Alta Vista.

In light of the recent vandalism in downtown Santa Fe, the business community is looking to take every measure possible to make businesses in Santa Fe safe. All businesses in the city, Santa Fe County and surrounding communities are invited.

The Business Watch Program, modeled after the successful Neighborhood Watch Program, is an important tool in crime prevention.

For more information, call Officer Ben Chavarria, Santa Fe Police Department Crime Prevention Unit at (505) 955-2751.

You buisness owners should start up you own Neighborhood Watch Program or every one go in on hiring a security guard. Dont get lazy and let the city put up cameras. The last thing you want are cameras, as they invade you own privacy and eventually lead to a big brother-police state type of thing.
