From a news release sent out by the Santa Fe Police Department:

On August 4, 2011 Santa Fe police officers discovered graffiti to a local business on the plaza.  Officers continued the investigation and follow up and discovered a total of 30 businesses, in and around the plaza, were tagged with graffiti overnight.  The victim businesses were located on Old Santa Fe Trail, Water Street, Guadalupe Street, West San Francisco and Palace Avenue.

Police Detectives and graffiti clean up crews have been dispatched to document photograph and remove the graffiti in the downtown area.  Detectives are canvassing the plaza area and affected businesses in hopes of obtaining video surveillance of the criminal damage.

At least one business owner has reported to police that they have video surveillance of possibly two juvenile suspects on the roof of his business over night.  Detectives will examine any and all video surveillance in an attempt to identify the suspects.

Anyone with information regarding the vandalism overnight is encouraged to call the Anti-Graffiti Coordinator, Jennifer Muñoz, at 505.955.2255.
