Sylvia Solano, the 18-year-old daughter of former Santa Fe County Sheriff’ Greg Solano, was arrested Monday morning and charged with DWI and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to a police report, Santa Fe Police Officer Daniel Parsons observed Sylvia Solano weaving around 12:30 a.m. Monday in the 3000 block of Cerrillos Road while driving an unspecified 1993 Toyota vehicle.
Parsons, who works with the department’s DWI unit, reports Sylvia Solano registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 or 0.16 in two tests taken after he pulled her over. Parsons reports he then found on Sylvia Solano’s possession a marijuana pipe.
Online jail records indicate she was issued a $1,500 cash bond and was released from jail at 3:05 p.m. Monday.
Sylvia Solano was arrested in Rio Rancho in early March and charged with passing fraudulent $20 bills.
Greg Solano, who resigned as sheriff in November after admitting selling county property on eBay for personal gain and was arrested in January in connection with the case, is awaiting trial on embezzlement and fraud charges. Attorneys in Greg Solano’s case have indicated a plea agreement is likely once the results of a forensic audit is completed if the sheriff’s department.
