Several Santa Fe Fire Department paramendics and firefighters stepped in Wednesday night to make sure suspected drunken driver Christopher Jackson didn’t flee the scene before he was detained by police.

There is the SFPD dashcam video above and here is a link to the article published in Friday’s New Mexican with more details on the incident:

One of the more interesting exchanges heard on the video, as I wrote in the story, was this:

  • Officer (Lawrence Weinrick): “Where are you coming from tonight?”
  • Jackson: “Right there (motioning with his head somewhere out of the camera’s view).”
  • Officer: “Right where?”
  • Jackson: “Motel 6.”
  • Officer: “Motel 6? Do you know where you’re at?”
  • Jackson: “No, I don’t.”

There isn’t a Motel 6 in that immediate area. Police say Jackson had a BAC of 0.24 or 0.25 (two tests were given) — three times the legal limit.
