Warrants obtained by The New Mexican and conversations with local police and the superintendent of Santa Fe Public Schools all indicate investigators have identified as many as six female high school students former SF High athletics trainer David Romero had inappropriate conversations with over Facebook.

Only once such conversation — one in which police assumed the identity of one of the girls and eventually arrested Romero when they say he arranged to meet the girl to have sex on Dec. 29 — has resulted in criminal charges.

Romero, who is out on a $50,000 surety bond, remained as of late Thursday on paid administrative leave from the school district and is not allowed on campus or at any public school facility for the time being.
