Not sure who came up with the design, but several former colleagues of mine in Tucson have been posting this as their Facebook images for the past couple days.

Obviously this isn’t a Santa Fe-specific crime, but Saturday’s shooting north of Tucson has captured the attention of the nation and for those of you interested in reading through the criminal complaint on Jared Lee Laoughner, I’ve attached a link below to a .pdf version of it.

The criminal complaint, drafted by FBI Special Agent Tony M. Taylor Jr., certainly won’t be the last of the charges coming for the 22-year-old Loughner after Saturday’s attempted assassination of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords that also resulted in the death of six others and injury of many more.

Here is a link to the criminal complaint for Loughner in .pdf form:

On a far more personal note that won’t mean a thing to many of you reading this, but something I want to write…

I want to say thank you to all my former colleagues still in Tucson who did an amazing job covering the story the past few days. When the Tucson Citizen’s print edition was closed down a year and a half ago, leaving my fiancée and I both out of work, we came back to Santa Fe because there was a job for me with The New Mexican. But I have to say I wish I was there with you guys Saturday trying to get this story out to the world.

Jennifer and I followed all weekend long the work of former friends and colleagues — those now at television stations there … those who work with Giffords’ communications team and were at the event … those who are now working at Pima Community College letting the world know of Loughner’s run ins with police there at least five times in the past year before he left the school after a Code of Conduct violation … those at the blog site … those at the … and those at

All of you guys did great work trying to get the story the nation is watching out to all of us and it was much appreciated. I miss being in Tucson, miss all of you guys and wish I was there helping you tell this story to the world.
