Anthony "Goofy" Gordon is accused of burglarizing a Pojoaque-area home Sunday morning and causing a four-plus hour SWAT standoff around a home he wasn't even in.

Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputies were still on the lookout Friday for a man they call ‘Goofy’ who is accused of stealing a rifle, running down a road in Pojoaque in a robe and no pants, leaving his house slippers behind at the home he burglarized and then sneaking out of a house a SWAT team later surrounded for more than four hours before shooting pepper-spray canisters in the home through a window.

Turns out Goofy, also known as Anthony Gordon, wasn’t in the home last Sunday and police have not yet found him.

He scheduled to appear in State District Court on Monday for an unrelated case against him.

Here is the story that published in Friday’s New Mexican with plenty more detail: Sheriff: Burglar evades SWAT standoff in Pojoaque

Anyone with information on Goofy’s whereabouts are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 955-5050. And in all seriousness, don’t let the nickname fool you. Police do consider Gordon armed and dangerous.
