The City of Santa Fe Speed SUV program isn’t exactly popular, but this is a first.

Someone shot one of the SUVs Tuesday night three times while it was parked on Bishop’s Lodge Road (see photos attached to this blog post, most of them at bottom of post).

Police have no suspects, which is odd considering there are cameras sitting right there inside the vehicle. RedFlex, the out-of-state company that makes a the profit off the program in Santa Fe, and city officials have yet to review all the video of the night to see if there are images of the shooter, apparently.

Capt. Aric Wheeler says there was not major damage to the video and camera equipment inside the SUV and it is undetermined so far how much it will cost to repair the SUV.

Not that I’m posting this for target practice purposes, but we do post the daily Speed SUV locations RIGHT HERE every week or by clicking the “Where’s the Speed SUV” link at the top of this blog.

Anyone with info on the shooting can call Santa Fe police at (505) 428-3710.

“RedFlex, the out-of-state company that makes a the profit off the program in Santa Fe.” Yep exactly someone makes money off the speeders. Come on people just dont speed. Drive the speedlimit. Dont give these people ways to make money off of you. This is classic though, I couldnt help but laugh and laugh, some one finally took a stand. I still think the cameras that “invade your privacy for the sake of safety” should of been delt with in the same manner first. Just my opinion. I wonder if the person that did it, sped a little too much.

  4. Gary Lyon says:

Everytime I drive by one I flip it off. I do the speed limit but I think this is an enfringment on people’s right. when I flip it off and people see me they give me a thumbs up. so they are not very popular. people just need to do the speed limit and as Vic saifd don’t give them a reason to take your money but next time you see one flip it off and let them know what you think. it is my 1st amendment right to free speech, and they can not do anything about it.

  5. Joe C. Patriot says:

Flip it off hell, I’m gonna do what my new hero from this incident just did and shoot the Anti-American POS.

There’s no Secret Service as they all got pinched for that prostitute thing in Cambodia. I can bet money those prostitutes were like 12 and 13 years old too. Anyway, dont speed people, if people didnt speed that SUV wouldnt be there in the first place. And now that you heavy footers gave it a reason to be there, who knows what else it does that has nothing to to with speeders. Obviously this “true patriot” didnt want to take chances. Hahaaaa. This video is classic!! Ive been sending it off to all my freinds and they cant stop watching it and laughing uncontrolably. Im even trying to get some T shirts made.

  8. Bill says:

This just shows the need for gun control. The guy fires five rounds at point-blank range and misses the camera entirely. Obviously, he needs to learn how to control a gun!
