Last week, it was 33-year-old Daniel Barde getting arrested and charged with aggravated DWI in Valencia County with his young child in the car with him.
Saturday night in Raton, another New Mexico State Police Officer was arrested and charged with DWI.
Here is a Sunday evening press release sent out by NMSP Sgt. Tim Johnson:
New Mexico State Police Lieutenant Matthew Vigil was arrested late last night by the Raton Police Department for DWI. Vigil has been employed by the New Mexico State Police for approximately thirteen and a half years.
At the time of arrest, Vigil was driving a personally owned vehicle and was not on duty. Vigil has been placed on administrative leave until an internal investigation has been completed.
