Police are looking for a 29-year-old Las Vegas, N.M., woman and her two young daughters who investigators say haven’t been seen since they were supposed to show up for a custody hearing earlier this month.
New Mexico State Police Lt. Eric Garcia says Rebecaa Montoya and her daughters — Mary N. Lucero-Montoya, 1, and Grace Lucero-Montoya, 5-months — were last seen Feb. 22 in San Miguel County.
Both girls have brown hair and brown eyes and Montoya is described as being 5-foot-3, 110-pounds, also with brown hair and brown eyes. Police say she drives a white 1999 Toyota Celica with New Mexico license plate GZD335.
While the alert was described as being a missing/endangered person advisory, Garcia did not say there is reason to believe any physical harm has occurred to the children.
“It’s unfortunate we have to send out these alerts, but the speedy recovery of these kids is our hope,” Garcia said. “The New Mexico State Police Department is responsible for alerts like this to assist families who are missing their loved ones.”
Anyone with information on the missing woman and her children are asked to call the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office at (505) 425-7589 or New Mexico State Police in Las Vegas, N.M., at (505) 425-6771.
